After much discussion, it was determined that the larger dinghies do not have enough room in the river to properly get up to speed before a tack is necessary.  Therefore, it has been determined that racing the boats over 10' in the same class as the boats under 10' is unfair to the larger boats.  The smaller Cascade boats have been able to win the races on corrected time due to the problem the larger boats are facing.   This problem has nothing to do with sailing ability or the individual skippers.  In an effort to even the sailing field, the dinghies have been split into two classes, boats over 10' and boats under 10' with both classes starting each race at the same time.
