 2009 Result Scoring Minimize

All racing is conducted under the following scoring guidelines:

Racing is split into two seasons (Spring, Fall), with a possible seven races in each season.  Each season produces a final result with the usual low point scoring (3/4, 2,3,4 etc) by summing the scores from individual races. Ties are not resolved at the season scoring level.

The overall annual winner is determined by adding the two season scores.  In the event of a tie, the tied skippers are compared in all races where they both competed.  If the tie is not resolved, the standard IASF method of comparing best finish scores will be used.  If a tie persists, dual trophies will be awarded.

DNF is scored as "number of starters +1".  A DNF is a boat that starts the race but fails to finish.

DCS is scored as "number of starters +2".  A DNS is a boat that attends the Skippers Meeting or leaves the dock, but fails to start the race.

DNC is scored as "number of starters +3".  A DNC is a no-show.

Within each season, one throwout is allowed if there are 3 or 4 completed races and two throwouts if  5 or more completed races.
