May 17/18 Weekend

Yet again we'll try to get the Ocean and River fleets off to their season starts.

Saturday evening will feature a Mexican Fiesta Potluck and everyone should expect to get an email soon telling them what category of food they might want to bring.  I'm sure a large portion of the alphabet will be assigned Tequila...  Olé!

May 3/4 Weekend Report

Once again, the racers were thwarted by heavy weather.  Although Saturday morning looked perfect for racing, the predicted gales moved in by noon.  The same gales left the river with erratic gusts and forced the cancellation of the dinghy race as well.  We did manage to hold the R/C races before the weather arrived, which, of course, meant light and shifty conditions.

Jim Relaford's GPS Refresher was well attended, and there were some pretty high grade munchies available to go with the traditional beer and other beverages.  For the diehards, the party got its second wind and some BBQ'ing and feasting went on till late!  Good job by Jim in discussing a very complex and broad subject.  If we ever get to have an ocean race, we'll see how much stuck!
